Sunday, September 11th
I looked at a sweet lady at church all dressed in patrioticly festive clothing and tried to remember why she would be so red white and blue today. Then I remembered. Oh yeah. That event we've all been remembering all week is actually today.
We got a call early reminding Lou that she had agreed to play prelude in Sacrament Meeting. She had completely forgotten and wasn't prepared to play, but said she would be there and sing. Well, we looked over some things and she was able to play "Beautiful Savior" on her violin while I accompanied her. She did a great job. I think those high schooler music lessons were worth every penny now. (Originally I was a little skeptical.) She really has gained a lot of confidence in her playing. She needs lots of atta-girls for pulling it off.
Meanwhile Mr. C was helping the S-Train with a talk for primary. I had no idea what they had written. So his talk was a complete surprise. He read the whole thing himself and also did a great job. He is growing in lots of ways. He memorized all of the books in the Book of Mormon lickety split and was helping a friend learn them on Sunday. (Their class has a challenge.)
Then after church - Scout Committe Meeting. Dinner. Get refreshments ready. Kids to SED. Me to Presidency Meeting. A bit of left over homework. Bed. (This last bit is just to journal and keep track for myself.)
It was packed, but in some ways those are the best Sundays. They feel like you are getting things done and working on the truly important things that center around spiritual goals and growing kids. I think it is the feeling that I am busy, but not busy for busyness sake. There is good and important work to do. I like feeling that I am not wasting time.
