Spent the entire morning making menus and shopping lists. (list check off!!) They are "planned" through October. The "each person having a night they make dinner" thing really doesn't work all that well into the school year. I can ask someone to help or make dinner, but the fact is that life is so much better if I start dinner before anyone gets home. The advance planning wasn't happening so much, and we were in desperate need of actually planned meals with multiple servings of vegetables. Most of the time I can either have children help with dinner or practice because they've already used up most of the afternoon on homework. Homework has increased dramatically for everyone but the S-Train this year. I hope we get faster at it so everyone can get outside more.
Then I went and was a guest reader in 2nd grade. Read PSSST! Which is an AWESOME book if you are going on a Zoo field trip later this week!
Then waved good-bye to the manly men on their way out the door to the fathers and sons camp out. At least I got the S-Train's clothes sprayed so I wasn't worried about ticks. Though I heard later I should maybe have been a bit concerned about fire safety. Not from my group of course. . . They were fine.
The handed out water at the football game. Watched TV with the group. (They've been having rerun marathons of Monk and Psych. They are favorite shows of Sue and Lou.)
